The Tie Plate (also known as Anchor Plate or Washer Plate) is a large square or circular steel plate used in conjunction with tie rods and wing nuts. It distributes the concentrated tension force from the tie rod over a wider area of formwork walers or panels, preventing local crushing or distortion of formwork elements.
